Hernández Rodríguez, Óscar b. October 29, 1908, Brooklyn, New York (Havana); Cuban; Single; Typewriter Mechanic; CPUSA and YCL both 1930; Domicile 1720 Madison Avenue, NYC, USA; Sailed January 20, 1937 aboard the Berengaria; Arrived in Spain February 4, 1937; Served with the XV BDE, Lincoln BN, Co. 1, Centuria Antonio Guiteras; June to August served with 101 Brigade; Then served as instructor in the 46th Division “Campesinos”, commissar school from October through November;  10th BDE; BN Commissar; Front November 1937 to October 1938 with the 209th Brigade, BDE Commissar; Served at Jarama, Quijorna, Teruel, Levante, and Extramadura Offensive; WIA at Jarama and Quijorna; During repatriation he served as Commissar of the American group in Villanueva Castillon; That group had Lossowski, Arthur Timpson, Frank Barcena, Saul Birnbaum and Nathan Budish as Lieutenants and Bill Aalto was Captain; d. March 4, 1992, Barcelona, Spain.
