July 27, 1914, Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Father Jacob Rautbort (deceased), mother Kate Rautbort; Primary school education; No prior military service; Single; Mechanic, Auto worker, and Air Conditioning; YCL, CP September 1936 (1937); Received Passport# 370868 on March 2, 1937 which listed his address as 1713 North 3rd Street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin (1732 N. 3rd, Milwaukee, Wisconsin); Sailed April 10, 1937 aboard the Rotterdam; Arrived in Spain on May 5, 1937 over Pyrenees; Served with the Garage at Albacete, then to Albacete Auto Park; Transferred to XV BDE, Auto Park, then to 15th Division, Auto Park on August 1, 1937, Moved to 35th Division April, 1938; April 20, 1938 transferred to XV BDE, Lincoln-Washington BN, Plaza Mayor, driver and runner; Rank Soldado; Served at the Ebro Offensive; WIA August 20, 1938 by artillery shrapnel on the road by his truck just behind the Pandols, was hit in stomach and side, hospital Figuras August 29, 1938 to October 21, 1938, October 21, 1938 to Moya, was still there in November; Returned to the US on December 31, 1938 aboard the President Harding; d. April 6, 1999, Brownfield, Terry County, Texas, buried in Agudas Achim Cemetery, Cudahy, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin; Wife Bernice Abramson Rautbort, Changed his middle name from Anthony to Tony.
