December 9, 1906, Chicago, Illinois; Father Casmir Zeronas (?-1909), mother Agata Zeronas (?-1916); Elementary education; Prior military service with the US Army, 131st Infantry 1929-33 and Illinois National Guard, 122nd Field Artillery Regiment, 1933-37; Married (Helen White); Restaurant Worker; CP 1931, YCL 1924-32, Spanish CP; ILD 1932, IWO 1935, Hotel and Restaurant Employees, AFL; Received Passport# 364818 on February 1, 1937 which listed his address as 2016 Haddon Avenue and 1628 West Division Street, both Chicago, Illinois; Sailed February 17, 1937 aboard the President Roosevelt; Arrived in Spain on March 10 (17), 1937 over the Pyrenees; Served with the 1st Grupo Eslavo, Artillery Pesada, 3rd Battery; Rank Sargento; Served July 15, 1937 to August 5, 1937 Central Front, and August 6, 1937 Southern Front; Then to Madrigueras with 1st BN of Instruction; Returned to the US on February 9, 1939 aboard the President Harding; WWII Civilian; d. December 1979, Chicago, Illinois; Was in Harbin, Manchuria China 1909-1926; Spoke Russian, Polish and English.
