March 5, 1899, Akaki, Nicosia District, Cyprus; (British Citizen), To the US circa 1920, Naturalized in 1941; Cypriot Greek; Father Thoskyriakou Thoma; Food Worker in Cafeterias; CP 1928 (1925), Hotel and Restaurant Workers Local, Pankypriaki; Domicile 75 West 100th Street, NYC; Sailed January 6, 1937 aboard the Paris; Arrived in Spain on January 24, 1937; Served with the XV BDE, Lincoln-Washington BN, Co. 2; Later May/June 1937 with XII BDE, Diacovich BN; Rank Soldado; Served at Jarama with the Lincoln BN, Co. 2, Section 1, Group 3; With the Diacovich BN Brunete and Zaragoza; Back to the XV BDE from Fuentes de Ebro through the Ebro Offensive; WIA February 27, 1937 Jarama and again on April 1, 1938 at Batea or Maella, both time in left thigh; Hospitalized after Jarama at Murcia and Benicasim; After April at Sitges; Returned to the US on March 3, 1939 aboard the Manhattan; One source indicates after leaving Spain he returned to Cyprus; In his naturalization paperwork he says he went to Spain aboard the Paris sailing February 6, 1937.
