Laguaragnella, Carmelo b. June 28, 1893, Bari, Italy, To the US in 1923 for political reasons; Italian American; Father Vito Laguaragin, mother Antonia (Buzzetti) Laguaragin; Maritime worker; To Spain April 1937; Served with the Garibaldi Brigade, 1st BN, Co. 1; Served at Huesca, Brunete, Fuentes de Ebro, Estremadura, Caspe, and the Ebro Offensive; Left Spain and crossed into France in February 1939 and detained in the French camps; Transferred to Italy in 1941 and sent to internal exile on the island of Ventotene.
