September 10, 1911, Caguas, Puerto Rico, to NYC in the 1920s; Puerto Rican; African American (per Army enlistment); Father Emilio Castro y Figueroa (1886-?), mother María Seoane Franquis de Castro (1890-?); Driver; No political affiliation; Received Passport# 452064 on June 26, 1937 which listed his address as 12 East 110th Street, NYC; Sailed January 29, 1937, aboard the Aquitania; Arrived in Spain on February 10, 1937; Served with the XV BDE, Lincoln BN, transferred to the BDE Auto Park; Served at Jarama where he was wounded; Received medical repatriation; Returned to the US on September 30, 1937 aboard the Normandie; WWII US Army, enlisted February 10, 1942; d. February 1984; Spoke Spanish and English.
