March 11, 1916, Hazelton, Kansas; Father Charles Edward Robel, Sr. (1881-1967), mother Lena Amelia Schumacher (1879-1959); 2 yrs Normal School, Lewiston, Idaho and 1 year Whitman, Wallawalla, Washington; Single; Student; YCL and Socialist; Received Passport# 25421, San Francisco series, on March 10, 1937 which listed his address as 326 West 11th Street, San Pedro, California and Lewistown, Washington; Sailed March 27, 1937 aboard the Paris; Served with the XV BDE, Washington BN, Co. 1, Section 3; Later in Transmissions; Killed in action July 10, 1937, Brunete; WIA in an air attack he died on the way to the hospital.
Siblings: brothers Eugene Frank Robel (1911-1989), Vernon W. Robel (1919-2013), sisters Gwendolyn Eve Robel (1906-1993), Dorthy Amelia Robel (1909-1984), and Opal G. Robel (1914-?).
