July 1 (June 30), 1913, Chelsea, Massachusetts (June 30, 1913, Malden, MA); Russian American; Jewish; Graduated from the University of Michigan in 1935 with a BS in Zoology; Single; Student, Driver, and Salesman; CP November 1935 and Spanish CP, Branch President; Received Passport# 363926 on January 27, 1937 which listed his address as Boston, Massachusetts and 39 Cook Avenue, Chelsea, Massachusetts; Sailed February 6, 1937 aboard the Paris; Arrived in Spain on February 14, 1937; Served with the XV Brigade, Lincoln Battalion, MG Co.; WIA February 27, 1937; Washington Battalion, First Aid May-July 1937; OTS September-November 1937; Instructor at Tarazona September 1937-February 1938; Lincoln-Washington Battalion, Company Commander Co. 4 (or 2 per bio); WIA September 7, 1938; Rank Sargento acting Teniente; Served at Jarama, Brunete, and the Ebro Offensive; Returned to the US on December 31, 1938 aboard the President Harding; WWII civilian due to wounds from Spain; d. July 2, 2008, Oakland, California.
