February 22, 1902, Nickenson, Minnesota; Jewish; Norwegian American; Father Otelius Martin Alexandersen Strom, (1867-1923); mother Marta Mattsson Anderson (1875-?); Single; Carpenter; CP 1931, unit Lit. agent; Received Passport# 4926, Chicago series, issued March 30, 1937 which listed his address as 2622 North 75th Avenue, Elmwood Park, Illinois (2139 72nd Court, Elmwood Park, Illinois); Sailed April 21, 1937 aboard the Queen Mary; Arrived in Spain on May 13, 1937; Served with the XV Brigade; Killed in action April 1938, Gandesa, Retreats, believed captured and executed.
Sibling: brothers Alexander Strom (1904-?), Alfred Strom (1908-1986), sisters Genevieve Constance Alexandersen Strom (1900-1989), Helen Mary Strom (1912-?), and Agnes Borghold Strom (1912-?).
