Biography

Jarvinen, Erland (Jawinen), b. 1909, Finland; Finnish American; Seaman; Sailed September 4, 1937 aboard the Champlain; Served with the XV BDE, Lincoln-Washington BN, sent to MG school; Remained in Tarazona during the Teruel Campaign; Deserted during the Retreats; Left Spain and went to Algeria where he attempted to join the French Foreign Legion.
