May 9, 1910, Taneytown, Carroll County, Maryland; Mother Nora Zech Leppo; Clerk; Received Passport# 359242 under Ernest Earl Leppo on December 30, 1936 which listed his address as 729 Ritner Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Sailed January 5, 1937 aboard the Champlain; Served with the XV BDE, Lincoln BN, Company 1, Section 1; Section Commissar; Later BN orderly; Killed in action February 27, 1937, Jarama. Either he was not killed in Spain or someone used his passport to travel to the US. Arrived in NYC aboard the Queen Mary on June 6, 1938 gave the address of 11 S. Dover Avenue, Atlantic City, NJ.
