December 17, 1901, Berdichoff, Russia; Russian American; Father Hayman Herman Patterson (1878-?), mother Sarah Berland (1880-?); Attended college for 2 years; Prior military service in WWI, 18 months in Canadian and English Armies; Divorced from Pearl Mandelbaum Krauss (1906-?) on July 9, 1927 in Hamilton, Ohio; Construction Worker or Engineer; CP 1937 (1934); Received Passport# 458894 on July 10, 1937 which listed his address as 133 Salem Avenue, Dayton, Ohio and NYC; Sailed July 21, 1937 aboard the Berengaria; Arrived in Spain via Agullana on August 2, 1937 (August 5, 1937); Served with the XV BDE, Mackenzie-Papineau BN; WIA March 10, 1938; Returned to the US on July 20, 1938 aboard the Champlain; Married to Phoebe MacCartney Patterson; d. May 17, 1956, Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania, buried in West Laurel Cemetery.
