Leggett, Harry. (Leggett, Perry?), b. December 11, 1910, in Chicago, Illinois; Jewish; Driver and Teamster; International Brotherhood of Teamsters; Received Passport# 483016 on November 2, 1937 which listed his address as 2639 Hirsch Boulevard, Chicago, Illinois; Sailed November 12, 1937 aboard the Franconia; Arrived in Spain via Massanet on November 27, 1937; Served with the XV BDE, Lincoln-Washington BN, Co. 3, joined BN in reserves at Teruel; Served at Teruel, Retreats, and Ebro Offensive; WIA March 16, 1938, at Caspe in thigh by a tank and again September 9, 1938, Corbera in the leg from rifle fire, in various hospitals; Tarragona 3 days, Benicassim 4 days, Murcia 2 weeks, Mataro 2 months, and Igulada 3 weeks; In June 1938 he attempted to desert and was returned to the BDE; Returned to the US on December 20, 1938 aboard the Ausonia; d. April 2, 1993, Mira Loma, California, buried in Corona Sunnyslope Cemetery, Corona, California; Wife Glady V. Leggett; Spoke German and English.
