March 12, 1905, NYC; Austrian American; father Sam Schatzberg (P1881-?), mother Fannie Pollak (1883-1912); Jacoba and his brother Elias were sent to the New York Hebrew Orphan Asylum after the death of their mother; Single; Stage Manager; CP; Received Passport# 366444 on February 10, 1937 which listed his address as 53 West 8th Street, NYC; Sailed February 20, 1937 aboard the Ile de France; Arrived in Spain on March 17, 1937; Served with the XV Brigade, Lincoln Battalion and Lincoln-Washington Battalion; Rank Soldado; Served at Jarama, and Brunete; KIA March 10, 1938, Belchite during the Retreats.
Siblings: brothers Elias Schatzberg (1903-1972), Joseph Schatzberg (1910-1995), and Aaron Schatzberg (1912-1913).
