May 15 (16), 1910, St. Louis, Missouri; Father Samuel Rosen (1884- ?), mother Mary Rosen (1885-?); Attended the University of Illinois at Champlain, Urbana; ROTC 2 years; Married; Automobile Worker, Office Worker, and Party Functionary; CP May 1933 (1929); Received Passport# 406204 on May 6, 1937 which listed his address as 52 East Willis, Detroit, Michigan, and 1333 Temple Place, St. Louis, Missouri (5969 14th Street, Detroit, Michigan); Sailed June 4, 1937 aboard the Statendam; Arrived in Spain via Espolla on June 23, 1937; Served with XV BDE, Mackenzie-Papineau BN in training; Assistant to Major Johnson at the American Training Base; XV BDE, Estado Mayor, Transmissiones, Rank Sargento; Served at the Retreats (2nd Belchite) through the Ebro Offensive; Returned to the US on December 15, 1938 aboard the Paris; WWII US Army Air Force, Transport Command, Alaska, enlisted February 21, 1942; Married Blanche Rossen (1909-1988); d. July 30, 2003, cremated in a private ceremony.
