June 18, 1903, Kiev, Ukraine; To the US December 5, 1923; Naturalized February 4, 1929 before the Bronx Supreme Court; Ukrainian American; Father Natan (Nathan) Cuban (b, Russia-d. 1923); 2 years unspecified prior military service; Painter; CP 1929; Received Passport# 358000 on December 19, 1936 which listed his address as 1157 Wheeler Avenue, Bronx, New York; Sailed December 26, 1936 aboard the Normandie; Arrived in Spain on January 6, 1937; Lost his passport in Spain, claimed the passport was on lost Jarama Trucks; Issued a Passport #1413 by the Consul General in Paris to return to the US; Returned to the US on July 2, 1937 aboard the Champlain; In the Spring of 1938 Cuban returned to Spain via Massanet on May 29, 1938; Killed in action July 28, 1938, at Gandesa, during the Ebro Offensive; Spoke English and Russian.Sibling: sister Mrs. Sonia Feld.
