Toab, Julius. (Toab, Louis; Taub); b. March 5, 1910, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; High School education; Single; Painter and Insurance agent; CP 1935, unit org.; Received Passport# 359156 on December 30, 1936 which listed his address as 1123 (1206) Poplar Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Sailed January 5, 1937 aboard the Champlain; Arrived in Spain on January 14, 1937; Served with the XV BDE, Lincoln BN, Co. 1, Section 1, Jarama and Brunete; Deserted on the second day at Brunete and went to Albacete along with Canadian Hugh Garner, sent to Camp Lukas; Later transferred to Artillery, 11th Regt., 2nd Group, 14th Battery (John Brown Battery), 155mm Guns; Served at Jarama, Brunete and Extramadura; Returned to the US on February 4, 1939 aboard the President Harding; d. July 1982, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
