Lash, Joseph P. b. December 2, 1909, NYC; Russian Jewish; father Samuel Lash, mother Mary Avchine; Graduated from CCNY in 1932, Socialist Party 1932-1936, ASU 1936-1939; Received passport # 107213 on May 25, 1934;16 Bank Street, NYC; Sailed May 19, 1937 aboard the Normandie; Arrived in Spain via Rosas on June 15, 1937. Enrolled in IB but was sent back to the US for Propaganda work; WWII US Army Airforce, 2LT; Married Trude Wenzel in 1944, son Johnathan Lash (b.1949), d. August 22, 1987, in Boston Massachusetts.
