Ginsberg, Louis (Ginsburg); 28 years old; Never in Spain; Married (separated for 2 years) Wife Fay, son Sidney; Received Passport# 365364 on February 4, 1937 which listed his address as 1067 57th Street, Brooklyn, New York (article states 336 Bristol Street - wife’s address); Sailed February 10, 1937 aboard the Washington; Wife contacted authorities and claimed that he abandoned her; State Department had Ginsburg apprehended when the ship docked in Le Havre and sent back to the US; In court his wife admitted they had been separated for two years and the judge advised the jury to acquit Ginsberg.
