March 12, 1913, NYC; Jewish; Father Benjamin Cooper (1885-?), mother Esther Cooper (1889-?); Married as Benjamin and Esther Krupka in 1910 and changed the family name to Cooper before 1930; Attended NYU 1931 for 2 years; Single; Writer and Journalist with WPA; YCL 1934 and CP 1936; Received Passport# 438213 on June 9, 1937 which listed his address as 31 West 16th Street, and 461 West 144th Street, both NYC; Sailed June 19, 1937 aboard the Berengaria; Arrived in Spain via Setcases on July 5, 1937; Tarazona in 2nd BN of Instruction July 4 - August 1, 1937; XV BDE, Lincoln-Washington, Plana Mayor; Served at Quinto and Belchite; Became ill and was in hospital at Benicasim from October 15 - November 30, 1937 and then in Benisa December 17 - January 27, 1938; Rejoined BDE in May 1938; Served at the Ebro Offensive; Returned to the US on December 20, 1938 aboard the Ausonia; d. December 9, 1991, Orlando, Florida
