December 3, 1914, NYC; Jewish; Father Joseph Stillman, mother Anna Israeloff; 8th grade education; Single; Junk dealer; YCL 1930; Received Passport# 394702 on April 20, 1937 which listed his address as 2759 West 155th Street, Harlem, New York (240 East 25th Street, NYC); Sailed May 8, 1937 aboard the American Importer; Arrived in Spain via Massanet on May 31, 1937; Served with the XV Brigade, Mackenzie-Papineau Battalion, Co. 2, Brigade Disciplinary Co.; Last unit Mackenzie-Papineau Battalion, Co. 4; Rank Soldado; Served at Fuentes de Ebro and the Ebro Offensive; Returned to the US on December 20, 1938 aboard the Ausonia; WWII US Army, stateside service as a POW guard in Georgia, Rank Private; d. August 8, 1988, buried in Westwood memorial Park, Los Angeles, California; Wife Rachel Sparkle Glusman Stillman, daughter Joanne Stillman McBirney; Active in the VALB and remained an activist; A life-long Giants Fan; Alternate birth dates December 13 or March 12, 1914.
