September 22, 1910, Evia (Limni), Greece; Greek American; Father Speros Nicholas “Peter” Skepastiotis, Sr., mother Mary Skepas (1891- ?); High School education; No prior military service; Single; Food Worker, Waiter, and Miner; CP March 1936 (1937), Spanish CP, Hotel and Restaurant Workers Union Local 16 AFL; Received Passport# 361492 on January 13, 1937 which listed his address as 111 15th Street, Brooklyn, New York; Sailed January 20, 1937 aboard the Berengaria; Arrived in Spain on January 30, 1937; Served with the XV Brigade, Lincoln Battalion, Estado Mayor to February 27, 1937; XII Brigade, Battalion 1 from July 1, 1937 to August 22, 1937; Albacete Auto Park from August 22, 1937 to September 14, 1937; 15 Division Sanidad from September 14, 1937 to end of March 1938, Benicasim, then to XV Brigade Sanidad; (Lincoln-Washington Battalion, Co. 2); Last unit XIII Brigade, Sanidad, Ambulance Driver; Served at Jarama, Brunete, and the Ebro Offensive; WIA February 27, 1937, hit in left arm, in hospital Tarancon 3 days, Murcia 2.5 months, Elche 1 month; Returned to the US on December 20, 1938 aboard the Ausonia; d. August 1974.
