Porrás Cruz, Jorge Luis b. May 1, 1910, Ciales, Puerto Rico; Puerto Rican; Father Serafín Porrás, mother Jacinta Cruz; Graduated from the University of Puerto Rico, continued his studies at the Central University of Madrid; Single; Philosophy Student; Domicile Madrid; Volunteer for Social Action; Returned to the US on December 23, 1936 aboard the Schodack; Continued on to Puerto Rico arriving January 13, 1937 aboard the San Jacinto; He completed his studies at Harvard in 1947 and in 1950 completed his PhD at the National University of Mexico; Served as a professor and director of the Hispanics department of the University of Puerto Rico; d. February 1970, San Juan, Puerto Rico.
