Blanchard; CMTC July 1930; Graduated from Meriden High School in 1934; Single; Seaman (NMU); No political affiliation; Received Passport# 476079 in September 1937 which listed his address as 578 Prospect Avenue, Brooklyn, New York; Sailed September 29, 1937 aboard the Washington; Arrived in Spain via Setcases on September 28, 1937; Served with the XV BDE, Brigade MG BN; later to Lincoln-Washington Battalion, Machine gunner and later Medic; Served at Teruel, Retreats, and Ebro Offensive; d. October 8, 1938, hospital from wounds suffered during the Ebro Offensive; His family erected a memorial marker in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Meriden, New Haven County, Connecticut, Section F.
