Birnbaum, Saul b. October 26, 1912, NYC; Attended college for 2 years; Single; Office Worker and Draftsman; YCL 1933 and CP 1933 (1937); Received Passport# 423860 in May 1937 which listed his address as 155 South 2nd Street, Brooklyn, New York; Sailed June 12, 1937 aboard the Georgic; Arrived in Spain via Agullana on June 30, 1937, enrolled in the IB on July 3, 1937; Served with the XV BDE, Lincoln-Washington BN, Co. 1, and the Mackenzie-Papineau BN; Served at Belchite; WWII US Army, ETO; d. July 1, 2006.

Biography (1912-2006 ), a New York native, served with the Mackenzie-Papineau battalion (one of the four battalions, together with the Lincolns, that formed the Fifteenth International Brigade) in Spain and with an artillery battalion that saw action in the European theater during World War II. After the war, he taught mathematics in New York schools. ~Peter Carroll
