Jones, Sheldon Star b. June 2, 1900 (1909), Port Deposit, Maryland; Father Everett Star Jones (1864-1940), mother Anna A. Hunt (1866-?); Two years University; Prior Military Service in the US Navy, served aboard the Florida during WWI 1917-1918, Quartermaster; Married Eleanor Halliday (1902-?) in 1926 in Boston, Massachusetts, son Everett Sheldon Jones (1927-2006); Seaman; No political affiliation, ISU, Spanish CP; Received Passport# 4039, Boston series, on February 4, 1937 which listed his address as Boothbay Harbor, Maine, and Southport, Maryland (family 215 W. 10th Street, Apartment I, NYC); Sailed February 6, 1937 aboard the Paris; Arrived in Spain on February 14, 1937; Served with the 3rd Battery, 3rd Group Artillery; Transferred March 30, 1937 to 14th Battery, 2nd Group Artillery, on October 27, 1937 transferred to 15th Battery, 2nd Group Artillery; Rank Cabo July 3, 1937, Sargento April 14, 1937, and Alfarez June 20, 1937; Estramadura and Toledo; Returned to the US on February 4, 1939 aboard the President Harding; d. December 22, 1972, Deer Isle, Maine, buried on Deer Island, in Sunset, Maine.
