Rudner, Sidney. (Besante; Besanie, James); b. July 4 (6), 1915, Sorospatek, Hungary; Hungarian American; No prior military experience; Attended Brooklyn High School and School of the Arts (Drama); Artist, Clerk, and Office Worker; YCL, CP June 29, 1937, American Labor Party, American League Against War and Fascism; Received Passport# 448510 on June 22, 1937 which listed his address as 1084 Eastern Parkway, Brooklyn, New York; Sailed June 30, 1937 aboard the Aquitania; Arrived in Spain via Massanet on July 11, 1937; Served with the XV BDE, Mackenzie-Papineau BN (July 15 to October 13, 1937); John Brown Artillery 2nd Group, 14th Battery, Headquarters, First Aid and Stretcher bearer; Returned to the US on February 4, 1939 aboard the President Harding; WWII Armed forces; d. August 1985.
