Carbonell; Two years studying Engineering and Agronomy at the College of Engineering and Agriculture of Puerto Rico; Prior service with the 296th Infantry in 1935, Rank Cabo; Single; Student; Received Passport# 13171, Puerto Rican series, on July 21, 1937 which listed his address as Calle Carbonell 74, Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico; Federación Nacional de Estudiantes (FNE), FNU; Sailed August 14, 1937 aboard the Champlain; Arrived in Spain August 27, 1937; Served with the XV BDE, Mackenzie-Papineau Battalion, MG Co., Interpreter; Rank Soldado; Served at Fuentes de Ebro, Teruel, Albalate, Belchite, Hijar, Alcañiz, Gandesa, and Mora de Ebro; WIA at Fuentes de Ebro and Teruel; Returned to the US on September 3(10), 1938 aboard the Paris; Sailed for Puerto Rico on October 3, 1938 aboard the Borinquen; d.
